5th Annual Convergence

Join 350Vermont at our 5th Annual 350VT Statewide Convergence on Saturday, November 4 at Goddard College from 2:00pm-7:30pm for a day of workshops, conversation, and celebration! 

We will take this time to reflect on the past, heal our hearts, launch new campaigns, and unite to build our power through statewide connection. We’re looking forward to a full day including a group workshop, dinner, campaign updates, annual reports, and more. Details below:

WORKSHOPS – 2:00 – 5:00 pm

We are offering two, three hour workshops for registrants;

1) Deepening our Nonviolent Resistance, a special training by  Linda Capato and Sam Corbin. They will lead a workshop to deepen our practice of non-violent direct action. You may remember Linda from the Tar Sands Action at the White House back in 2011 or from the climate justice blockade at the 2017 inauguration.

2) Town Meeting Day Resolution Training, will be facilitated by Brian Tokar and Nancy Braus.  They will lead participants through our new solutions campaign and offer various exercises to practice all the skills needed to have a successful resolution campaign.

ANNUAL MEETING – 5:15 – 6:30 pm

During the statewide meeting staff and board will report back on the successes of 2017, present appreciations to volunteers, and roll out our new solutions campaign. 

DECOLONIZATION DINNER – 6:30 – 8:00pm

We will round out the convergence with dinner by Woodbelly Pizza. During dinner time we will offer small group discussion focused on the interplay between colonization, religion, and climate activism. Thank you to former intern, Abby Rampone, for sharing this format with us.

CHILDCARE – 2:00 – 6:00 pm

Childcare will be provided from for the workshops and annual meeting. We will have an outdoor program for children 6+ and two other childcare providers doing childcare for 5 and under inside. Childcare is included in registration.

REGISTRATION is $10 -$50 sliding scale and covers the cost of food, venue, trainers, and childcare.We are offering scholarships to cover the cost of registration. If folks are interested they can contact katherine@350vt.org.
