About the 350VT Solidarity Fund

It’s only possible to address the climate crisis and its root causes by recognizing how it is connected to racial justice, Indigenous sovereignty, migrant justice, economic justice, disability justice, gender justice, and other interconnected, systemic issues. Collaborating with other organizations and groups across the movement is essential to catalyzing the societal change we need for a just and sustainable future, and we do that in different ways. We work to amplify each other’s stories, we show up for each other’s events, and we gather each other’s input on the work we do.

That’s where our solidarity fund comes in! As part of our commitment to building a truly intersection climate justice movement, we give 5% of funds raised through our two annual grassroots fundraising drives to BIPOC-led movement organizations throughout the state. Our Solidarity Fund launched in 2020, and while we have refined our approach over the past few years, some of the criteria we currently use to determine groups to support include…

  • Must be a BIPOC-led group

  • Must have aligned values

  • Preferably a group that we have some existing relationship with

  • Preferably have a relation to environmental/climate issues

  • Preferably has a budget under 300k

  • Preferably Vermont-based

While this is an important initiative supporting our movement allies, 350Vermont is not, nor will be, an organization primarily focused on providing funding to other organizations.
