Internships
Spring 2025 Internships
Are you passionate about climate justice and want to take action? Join 350Vermont to get hands-on experience with the grassroots climate movement in VT! As an intern, you will contribute to 350VT’s core organizing and communications work across the state through our Just Transition campaign. Our campaign is building the political will and organizing power to bring about effective climate solutions and a future in which all can thrive. We work to engage communities, businesses, and political leaders to transition Vermont away from fossil fuels and toward accessible, low-carbon energy sources.
Organizing Internship
Learn the nuts and bolts of how grassroots organizing works! You’ll help us engage, educate, and mobilize people in Vermont, locally and around the state, to take action for climate justice. You’ll get a close-up view of how campaigns develop in real time as local issues play out and as the state legislative session takes place. You’ll experience different aspects of a nonprofit organization while collaborating with 350VT staff and volunteers. Depending on what emerges in our campaigns, as well as your interest and availability, you may help us with research, planning and running workshops, organizing rallies or other events, supporting volunteer groups, and other organizing needs. This internship is an incredible opportunity to learn about many aspects of how changemaking happens!
Communications Internship
Learn about the public communications aspect of grassroots organizing! You’ll collaborate with 350VT staff and our volunteer comms team on communications that support the climate justice work happening across our statewide network. You’ll help with our social media, as well as with other communications needs depending on your availability and interest: website, print materials, photography, video, audio, tabling/outreach, and comms engagement data. This internship is a great opportunity to explore how to inform and engage the public effectively around some of the most important social justice and environmental issues of our time!

Past Interns’ & Fellows’ Testimonials
“Working as a 350Vermont summer fellow was one of my best organizing experiences. It helped me build the confidence, skills, and experience needed to pursue a career dedicated to environmental justice. 350VT also supported me in building the information and community needed to begin organizing around transportation in Vermont. When I sent a proposal for low carbon accessible transportation I was unsure if others would also care about changing the car-based transportation system that I, as a young blind young person, struggle with in Vermont. 350Vt showed me others cared. From the incredible staff who taught me how to build community to all the people in and out of the 350VT network I connected with, this fellowship has filled me with hope, joy, and the passion to keep working on transportation.”

"Working with 350VT was an amazing experience! I was able to learn more about local politics in Vermont in a way that I don’t think I could have on campus. I learned why building relationships should be the foundation of any organizing, as well as hard skills I’ll need in the future. I know that I want to continue organizing around climate justice in the future, which working with 350VT has made me sure of. The staff collective has done a wonderful job at putting my skills to use while teaching me others."
