Our Campaigns
-
Community Weatherization
Insulating and air sealing homes reduces energy use, saves money, and makes people more comfortable in their homes. 350VT nodes across the state are finding ways to support existing weatherization programs and organize hands-on work parties to bring this benefit to more Vermonters.
-
Thermal Energy Networks
Thermal energy networks (TENs) provide highly efficient heating and cooling for a neighborhood, town center, or other group of buildings. TENS use ground-source heat pump technology as well as recycling waste heat from industrial or commercial sources—even wastewater! Several 350VT nodes are helping their towns move toward this safe, sustainable, hyperlocal energy infrastructure.
-
Don't Burn Our Future
Burning biomass (wood products) at a large scale produces harmful pollution and carbon emissions, impacts the health of our forests, and hogs money that could be better invested in truly clean renewable energy. 350VT nodes and allies are fighting the expansion of the McNeil biomass facility in Burlington and a proposed new biomass plant in Lyndonville.

Solidarity
“Nobody’s free until everybody’s free.” —Fannie Lou Hamer, 1971
Our commitment to climate justice means that we recognize that our most vulnerable populations—especially poorer, disabled, and BIPOC folks—bear the brunt of the climate crisis, of fossil fuel pollution, and of systemic inequality. We consider it part of our work to protest the deportation of migrants, to champion the rights of workers, and to uplift indigenous sovereignty.
-
Legislative Action
With the November 2024 loss of the liberal supermajority in the Vermont legislature, Governor Phil Scott and his administration have proposed to cut many key aspects of the landmark Global Warming Solutions Act, which holds our government accountable to ending our dependence on fossil fuels before it’s too late for a livable future. 350VT members across the state are meeting with their legislators in support of this essential climate action law.
-
Community Solar
Governor Scott’s administration has been steadily cutting incentives and benefits for solar in Vermont, including the net-metering program that made community solar installations affordable. 350VT is mobilizing widespread grassroots support for solar—it’s free energy, it’s clean, it’s sustainable. Everyone should be able to run on sun!
