350VT Operations Director
Commitment: Between 24 hours/week (PT) and 35 hours/week (FTE, with full benefits)
Location: Downtown Burlington office (some remote work possible)
Pay: $31.07/hour ($56,547 salaried for FTE - 35 hours/week), at our Program Director level

Role Description
350Vermont, a vibrant statewide grassroots climate justice organization, is looking for an Operations Director based out of our Burlington office. Come support this important work!
The Operations Director will lead or collaborate on a wide range of the internal aspects of 350VT’s work (most of what’s listed below — there’s flexibility around some items, depending on interest, skills, and hours worked):
Overall, help the internal systems of 350VT run smoothly, effectively, and in accordance with our values.
Manage 350VT’s Burlington office — coordinate keeping the space welcoming, clean, and organized; liaise with landlord and anyone sharing the office
Handle paperwork and other requirements for maintaining insurance policies, business registration, and nonprofit status; other key administrative tasks
Facilitate updating employment policies and handbook as needed
Monitor 350VT’s phone line and general email address
Finances: create monthly and quarterly reports; collaborate with staff and board on budgeting; collaborate with accountant on tax filing; process expenses and keep Quickbooks updated; oversee accounts billable and payable; collaborate with bookkeeper on payroll
Fundraising support: process donations and deposit checks; support grassroots fundraising appeals including thank you program; track fundraising data
Help update and maintain 350VT’s communication, fundraising, and volunteer database (currently NationBuilder)
Facilitate 350VT’s internship program: coordinate with staff to make sure the internship program meets current organizational needs, run hiring processes, coordinate with schools for funding and credit requirements as needed, support interns working well with their supervisors, facilitate team-building among interns and with staff.
Support hiring processes as needed
Manage some logistics for in-person and online events as needed
Help with outreach and public communications as needed
Support with other needs as they arise
Depending on skills and interest, contributing to 350VT’s organizational development work could also be part of the role, especially after 6+ months of employment.
This position is primarily based out of 350VT’s office in downtown Burlington, with some remote work possible. The Operations Director collaborates closely with 350VT board members, interns, volunteers, and most of all the statewide staff team.

At least 3 years’ experience with the internal side of a non-profit organization or business, or equivalent life experience
Comfort with tech and learning new tech (most relevant: Google suite, Slack, communication databases [we currently use NationBuilder], Zoom, QuickBooks Online)
Some experience or familiarity with grassroots organizing is very helpful
Able to balance orienting to whole systems with managing many important details

Database management experience
Experience with employment policy/HR
Experience managing staff or interns
Knowledge of budgets and finances
Experience with Quickbooks Online or other budgeting software
Strength with social media, website management, communications strategy
Graphic design skills
Experience with grassroots fundraising appeals, sponsorships, and/or fundraising strategy
Alignment with the organization
Passionate about climate justice

Comfortable working in a small organization that centers relationships
